H0382a – CRIMES – Amends I.C. § 18-8329 to clarify provisions prohibiting sex offenders from being on school grounds or loitering or residing within 500 feet of school grounds; provides that the 500 foot restriction is measured from the exterior wall of the offender’s dwelling unit to the school’s property line; provides for posting of properties used by a school, and forbids offenders from being within 500 of the property during a school activity or when children are present 30 minutes before or after such activity; provides exceptions for voting, taking delivery of mail, and presence with written permission of principal or vice-principal.
