S1513 – IMMIGRATION – Amends I.C. § 18-3001 to provide that falsely personating another person to obtain employment is a misdemeanor; provides that knowingly filing a false and frivolous complaint that an employer is knowingly employing an unauthorized alien is a misdemeanor; provides that prosecuting attorneys shall bring actions in district court against employers for knowingly employing unauthorized aliens; that for a first violation, the district court shall order shall order suspension of all of the employer’s business licenses until the employer has filed an affidavit that the employer has terminated the employment of all unauthorized aliens; provides for suspension of business licenses for 10 days for a second violation, and permanent revocation of all business licenses for a third violation.
S1514 – ELECTIONS – Provides that the secretary of state or county clerk, upon finding that: (1) a candidate has at some time changed his or her name; (2) the new name conveys a political message; and (3) an explanation would clarify the ballot and assist in eliminating confusion, shall insert, following the candidate’s name, “A person, formerly known as [candidate’s previous name].”
